Starting from a specific space: the Design Plaza of Los Andes University, a sound exploration was carried out to design an interactive object that “touched” the space in the form of sound graffiti. These woodpeckers are an imagined species, mechanically resting on the metal pipes that drain the water, which act as trees.
A solenoid motor was used, located in the bird’s beak that connects to a distance sensor, causing the bird to touch the pipes before the proximity of passers-by.
